- Where is the wedding being held?
- The wedding will be held at the University Club of Chicago. Located at 76 E Monroe St, Chicago, IL 60603.The ceremony and reception will be held in the Michigan Room on the second floor. Simply take the grand staircase or elevator and the room will be on your left.
- What time should I arrive?
- Unless you are a member of the bridal party or immediate family, your recommended arrival time is 3:30 pm.The ceremony will begin at 4 pm in the Michigan Room at the University Club of Chicago, followed by Cocktail Hour in the Presidents Bar A.K.A P-Bar (down the hall).The Reception will take place at 6 pm in the Michigan Room. The Reception will last until 10 PM, however, the After Party begins at 10:01 pm at P-Bar!!! The after after party will happen at the hotel lob- just kidding, you can keep partying, but it can’t be at the University Club.
- Are there any room blocks?
- Yes, we have room blocks available to book at the University Club. There are also many hotels in the area which you are welcome to stay at.Room Block Booking Instructions: Reservations can be made by one of two ways until the cutoff date of Friday, May 23, 2025:1. By phoning the Club at (312) 726 - 2840, ask for Guest Room Reservations and mention the Brittany Worsham & Michael Garfinkel Wedding block of rooms. OR2. Self-ParkSelf-parking is available at the following garages:- • East Monroe Garage: Entrance is on Columbus Street, Just East of Michigan Avenue and Just South of East Randolph Street
- • Grant Park North Garage (Best Spot) Entrance is on North Michigan Avenue between Monroe Street (from the South, heading North) and Washington Street (from the North, heading South)
- • Grant Park South Garage: Entrance is on North Michigan Avenue between Congress Parkway (from the South, heading North), and Adams Street (from the North, heading South)
Public Transitfrom O'Hare Airport - Follow the signs through O'Hare Airport to the CTA Blue Line train. Take the CTA Blue Line train downtown to the Monroe/Dearborn stop. Walk east 0.2 miles to 76 E Monroe St. Approximately 45 min.from Midway Airport - Follow signs through Midway Airport to the CTA Orange Line train. Take the CTA Orange Line train downtown to the Adams/Wabash stop. Walk 0.1 miles southeast to 76 E Monroe St. Approximately 38 min. - What can I do in Chicago?
- The University Club of Chicago is close to Millennium Park, the Chicago Cultural Center (free admission), the Art Institute, Navy Pier, and several CTA stations.The morning after the wedding we are having a farewell brunch at our home in Logan Square, we’d love for any of you to join us.
- Are children welcome?
- Yes, children of all ages are welcome to attend the ceremony and reception. A kids menu is available for anyone under twelve. - What is the University Club of Chicago? Is there a dress code?
The University Club of Chicago, founded in 1887, is one of the finest clubs in the city. Today its membership consists of nearly 3,000 men and women, representing careers in the professions of business, education, government, and others, united by the common bond of a university education.
Built in 1908, the clubhouse was the nation’s first gothic skyscraper, designed for function and unique beauty. Amenities range from restaurants, bars, members’ business center, 59 sleeping rooms, private function rooms, a library, art gallery, international squash courts, swimming pool and fitness center.
UCC Dress Code
As set by the University Club House Rules, the club’s dress code is as follows for private event spaces: Weekdays: traditional business or business casual attire. Shorts, t-shirts, athletic shoes or attire, baseball caps and flip flops not permitted. Collared shirts required for men.
Weekends: casual attire permitted.
Cell Phone, Laptop, Tablets & Mobile Device Usage Policy
Cell phone usage is enforced seven days a week and permitted in designated areas of the clubhouse only. When entering the clubhouse please turn your phone on vibrate. Out of courtesy to other members and guests, please keep calls brief and low volume and do not use speaker mode.
Laptops, tablets, and mobile devices may be used in the below designated areas. No sound, earphones or blue tooth devices are permitted unless otherwise noted. No photographs, videos or sound recordings may be made.
Phone calls are permitted only in the following areas:
- 8th Floor – West Terrace of Parliament
- 7th Floor – Living Room and Phone Booths
- 6th Floor – Members’ Business Center, Game Room
- 3rd – 6th Floor – Guest Room Corridors
- 1st Floor – Lobby Lounges (Southeast corner and adjacent to Valet entrance) and Phone Booths
- Private Dining Rooms
- All back of house service corridors
Laptops, tablets, and mobile devices should be used in the following designated areas:
- 11th Floor – Athletics Lounge (laptops and tablets only)
- 9th Floor – Cathedral Hall
- 8th Floor – Library, College Hall & The Parliament
- 7th Floor – Living Room & Front Grill
- 6th Floor – Members’ Business Center, Game Room
- 2nd Floor – Presidents’ Bar (prior to 3:00pm)
- 1st Floor – Lobby Lounges (Southeast corner and adjacent to Valet entrance)
- Private dining rooms and guest rooms
- All back of house service corridors
Mobile devices are not permitted in any athletic areas, including locker rooms. Restrictions for use in dining venues: devices must be handheld or lay flat against the table (no laptops, except Living Room). Earphones are permitted in Living Room only.
